Creating Space for Creative People
ESTATE FOUR began its expansion into the US with the Varick Street project in New York. The property is in TriBeCa, one of the most up-and-coming and vibrant areas of the city.
ESTATE FOUR is undertaking a major renovation of 130,000 square feet of the building - it will be transformed into one of the most advanced studio complexes in the world, and a beautiful landmark featuring unique ceiling heights of 30 feet.
50 Varick Street is a significant development in photographic and film studio design. There is a significant requirement for adaptive studio space that is able to create fashion video, website content, 3D technologies, catwalks with live streaming, live online model casting and both moving image and static photography. This project is the first of its kind in the US and will support luxury fashion brands moving into the new digital age.
Bringing together fashion, art, events, digital technology, photography and film under one roof, 50 Varick will be a focal point for the creative industries - a place where they can meet, work, collaborate and host functions. The project will provide the catalyst to make New York City a key global centre for fashion design and related creative fields.
In addition to 14 studios, the designs include a state-of-the-art post production facility, library, casting suites, restaurant, bar/lounge and a 20,000 square foot roof terrace. Also part of the project is an international art gallery that will provide a mixed platform for art and fashion, celebrating collaboration and partnership between the two.
The Varick Street project will be a significant asset to the City of New York, a world-class resource and a globally significant centre for the fashion industry.
